Matthew 13:44 (NKJV)
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
This is a sister article to my other one titled, Hosea Chapter 1: The Story of the Lost Sheep of Israel. This topic is one of the things that I had been pondering for some time, and on which received much revelation. So, naturally, I had a lot to say in it, but I really wanted to have you, the Lost Sheep of the House of Israel, understand how much you are loved. You may say, “I know. He loves me!” but, I mean, you are REALLY loved … : )
I initially posted an article on the same theme on “SWORD OF TRUTH,” a blog created by my dear sister in Messiah, Barbie Cunningham, titled “You are the Precious Treasure Hidden in the Field.” I have slightly revised and added more scriptures for a better clarity in this version.
The story goes all the way back to Adam and Eve. He declared the end from the beginning (Is 46:10), indeed. Adam is a type of our Messiah and Husband, and Eve is us, the Children of Israel. Eve sinned before they were officially married, recoded in Genesis 4:1, which seems to have been a sexual sin, a harlotry. How can I tell? It is because the sin of the House of Israel, as repeatedly described in the Bible, is harlotry, which is idolatry. I detailed more on this fact in the Hosea Chapter 1 article I mentioned above. And, if you read it with an open mind, you will see that the rest of the Bible testifies to the fact that she had a sexual relation with a beautiful but cunning feathered serpent then, Satan, and probably had Cain as a result.
(20) And Adam called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living.
But, Adam married her anyway, and died with her in sin.
Hosea also married a harlot, did he not? He is also a type of the Messiah, who married a harlot wife, Gomer, at the command of YHVH. Our Husband and Messiah, Yeshua, first married our ancestors, Children of Israel, at Mount Sinai, while they were still worshiping the Egyptian sun god, Osiris. Well … , that is another fancy pen-name for Satan, and that is harlotry to worship him.
But, the Son, at the command of His Father, married the harlot anyway, and loved her dearly.
Nevertheless, she continued to commit sin .., I mean, relentlessly, and was eventually given the “certificate of divorce” (Jer 3:8). You can read Part 4 of my series on the Lost Sheep about how this Marriage and Divorce drama plays out in the Bible. Also, my other article on Hosea Chapter 1 goes deep in this issue.
Now, we are the descendants of the people of the House of Israel who were divorced and exiled by YHVH their God in 722 BC. We cannot be exact by our DNA, only Abba and Yeshua know exactly who is a descendant of whom, but we all know it in our spirit, and biblically … it is solid, as I laid all out in my series, “Why Yeshua Had To Die.” And, this DNA, however, is the key. That is the “seed” our Father “sowed” in to the world by exiling the House of Israel. Judah would also be “sowed” later and swallowed up in the Gentile world, as Israel. — And, “this” is essentially what the Book of Hosea tells us, and is also backed up by the following scripture.
(27) “Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man and the seed of beast.
Hosea and Gomer’s first child, a boy, was named Jezreel, according to the command of YHVH. The name, “Jezreel,” means “God sows,” which repeatedly appears in the Book of Hosea, is “us,” whom YHVH our Father “sowed” in the world.
Of course, the story does not end there. In this short chapter that consists of 11 verses, Hosea Chapter 1, our Father makes sure the glorious ending is included. I hope you will read it in the full article on Hosea 1, but the following verse sums it up:
Then I will sow* her for Myself in the earth, And I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy**; Then I will say to those who were not My people***, ‘You are My people!‘ And they shall say, ‘You are my God!‘ “
- * The fisrt child, “Jezreel,” meaning “God sows” (Ho 1:4).
- ** The second child, “Lo-Ruhamma,” meaning “no mercy” (Ho 1:6).
- *** The third child, “Lo-Ammi,” meaning “not My people” (Ho 1:9).
After the exile of our ancestors, when He had “no mercy” on them any longer 2700 years ago, and their wondering in the world, we are now called the “people of YHVH,” and we call Him our God. It is despite the fact that we were once among the Gentiles, as called by Him “not My people,” not knowing who we were and to whom we belonged, having been swallowed up in the world (Ho 8:8) for thousands of years. That is how much packed in this one verse. Amazing .. but you can see that this is “our” story … the story of the Lost Sheep of Israel!
And, our Messiah came just for us …
(24) But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
That means …
He sowed us in the earth, let us grow spiritually in the world, sent His Son again, and He died just so that we could be His wife again!
Because, His Father commanded Him to “Go again.”
Then the LORD said to me, “Go again, love a woman who is loved by a lover and is committing adultery, just like the love of the LORD for the children of Israel, who look to other gods and love the raisin cakes of the pagans.”
Now, fast forwarding to the New Testament, in the Parable of the “Treasure Hidden in the Field,” this message is confirmed again. I am, once again, copying the Parable here.
(44) “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
“Treasure” is us, the ‘once’ Lost Sheep “hidden” in the “Field,” that is the world, the whole earth. YHVH “sowed” the seed in the earth. They have been bearing plentiful fruits, that is you, and the field is white for the harvest (Jn 4:35).
Now, however, here is the point of contention you may hear people often arguing on, even within your own mind …
“But … , there is this famous verse, and we have been taught He died for everyone“:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Yes, that is what the Bible says … Fine … But, it is a single verse. We need an understanding of the whole Bible to correctly understand this verse. The Parable of the “Treasure Hidden in the Field” explains part of it, but it is a “good” part of it.
And, there are many Parables also, when understood correctly in the canonical context, support this truth.
Well, what Yeshua did, being slain as the precious Lamb of God, carrying away and vanishing all the sin for those who believe, and being resurrected to give us renewed life. That is available for “whosoever,” indeed.
But, but, but, my brothers and sisters, it was only because He wanted “the Treasure,” His lost wife and new Bride!
In order to retrieve us, He “sold all that He had” and bought the whole earth, so that He would not miss any of us. …
Oh, please get up and praise the Lamb who was slain, our precious Husband!
How this would happen is indeed prophesied in Hosea 3:1-2. It goes like this …
Hosea bought back and redeemed Gomer, whose name means “complete,” with silver and barley (bread). Our Husband was sold for silver and His body (bread) was broken. Back in the Old Covenant time, it was illegal to remarry a divorced wife, especially divorced for adultery. It must have been a big deal for Hosea to do that. But, it was a shadow of what was to come — We would be redeemed not by money.
For thus says the LORD: “You have sold yourselves for nothing, And you shall be redeemed without money.”
He redeemed us with His life.
Moreover, unlike Adam, who died “with” his wife, Eve, Yeshua our Husband, and Messiah, was resurrected and will marry us again, legally. This is another amazing prudence and providence of our Father that He has shown me in the Bible. This is how it works …
Once the former husband dies, the divorced wife can legally marry again according to Torah. So, He died …. and was resurrected again …. missed it? Some of you might … OK, here it is rephrased …
According to Torah, a husband can legally divorce his wife when she commits adultery, which our ancestors did and was exiled with the certificate of divorce (Deu 24:1; Deu 24:3; Jer 3:8; Mat 5:31; Mat 19:7; Mk 10:4). And, the only time for the divorced wife can re-marry any man is when her former husband dies.
Apostle Paul, a former Pharisee and a scholar of the law, explains this:
(2) For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband. (3) So then if, while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law, so that she is no adulteress, though she has married another man.
That is what happened, and that is why He died, only so He would be able to marry His beloved wife again …, but this time, no longer an adulteress, but a brand new, purified, and refined spotless “complete” Bride of the “complete” Messiah.
And, that is why “God so loved the world” (Jn 3:16) and sent his Son to die for His Bride, and bought the “whole world” (Mat 13:44), so that He will never leave any one of you … not one … in it.
(4) “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? (5) “And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. (6) “And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’
He loves you …
I discuss all these things, and much more in detail, in my eBook in making, “Why Yeshua Had To Die: A Hebraic Perspective.” Please read it and be blessed.
