I had thought about the 6,000 years and that we are coming upon the Sabbath Rest for the 1,000 years spoken of in Revelation so this is confirmation for me. Thank you sister… and Amen to the prayer…

“Be Bereans and study to show yourselves approved”.

The first biblical scholar to propose an origin for Jubilees was Robert Henry Charles (1855–1931). Charles proposed the author of Jubilees may have been a Pharisee and that Jubilees was the product of the midrash which had already been at work in the Old Testament Chronicles.[3] However, with the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls (DSS) at Qumran in 1947, Charles’ Pharisaic hypothesis of the origin of Jubilees has been almost completely abandoned.

The dating of Jubilees has been somewhat problematic for biblical scholars. While the oldest extant copies of Jubilees can be assigned on the basis of the handwriting to about 100 BC, there is much evidence to suggest Jubilees was written prior to this date.[7] For example, the author of Jubilees seems to be aware of 1 Enoch’s “Book of Dreams”; of which, the oldest extant copy (DSS-13 4Q208) has been carbon dated to ca. 200 BC.[8]

There is no official record of it in Pharisaic or Rabbinic sources, and it was among several books that were left out of the canon established by the Sanhedrin and rabbi Akiva ben Joseph in the late first century. Sub rosa, many of the traditions which Jubilees includes for the first time are echoed in later Jewish sources, including some 12th-century midrashim which may have had access to a Hebrew copy. The sole exception within Judaism are the Beta Israel Jews formerly of Ethiopia, who regard the Ge’ez text as canonical.[13] – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jubilees

Sister I must say that if you are getting your information from wikipedia … it can lead you astray cause anybody who is any body can write this stuff in there and I do not trust wiki period.. The Truth is in the Bible 2Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: Having ears to hear and eyes to see will give you the truth and understanding needed to decode the many mysteries the WORD holds. I have to agree with Olivia on what she says about the texts.. I have read several myself but only to confirm the instances in the Bible as in Jude…. it is okay to read these texts only if you have a firm foundation in the Biblical works of HIS WORD FIRST and FOREMOST

I am loving this series. I really am! I can’t wait for Adam and Eve. It’s the Parable I’ve been looking forward to the most because it’s the first time I ever received Revelation from Father while reading. It always came after.

I’m going to start re-reading from Genesis 1 again. I’ve been reading it purposefully to find references to Yeshua in the Old Testament, but that doesn’t always work because I get confused by all the different characters, so now I’ll just ask Father to let me see each Parable as it comes and study it that way. I’ve never been so excited to start studying in my life! Thank you for this series Olivia.

And thank you Father for giving me my true family and a place to belong.

    Much love,
    Edel
