The shortest answer is “Yes.”
It is understandable if you feel a little uncomfortable with this answer. But, it is true. May be, not all Christians are of Hebrew descent, but most of us are. Only YHVH knows exactly. But, I have found the answer in the Bible to prove that so called “the Gentile Christians” may not be “Gentile” after all.
Here is the story in a tiny nutshell . . .
In the process of searching for the answer to my question, “Why did Yeshua really have to die?” which had been vexing me for some time, I began to see the plan of YHVH to redeem “His” people and have two groups of people reconcile to Himself. Hmm . . . would you re-deem and re-concile strangers? Then, what does “whosoever” in John 3:16 mean? I asked myself . . . because the plan of salvation seemed so specific and conditional. Did you know that YHVH calls a specific group of people “My people” about 217 times in the KJV? And, the specific people group who is called by that special name is the “Israelites.”
So, who are the “two” groups of people to be reconciled “together” to God?: Israel and Judah.
- Northern Kingdom: House of Israel (10 tribes); Capital: Shechem, then Samaria
Reuben; Simeon; Dan; Naphtali; Gad; Asher; Issachar; Zebulun; Joseph (Manasseh, Ephraim)
- Southern Kingdom: House of Judah (2 tribes); Capital: Jerusalem
Judah; Benjamin; (Levi)
Both peoples would eventually be exiled for their idolatries, and we know what happened to the remnant of Judah; they returned and rebuilt the Temple and Jerusalem (Ezra and Nehemiah). Judah remained in the Covenant. But, what happened to Israel? Here is the Scripture that answers this question:
(9) Then God said: “Call his name Lo-Ammi*, For you are not My people, And I will not be your God. (10) “Yet the number of the children of Israel Shall be as the sand of the sea*, Which cannot be measured or numbered. And it shall come to pass In the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not My people,’ There it shall be said to them, ‘You are sons of the living God.’
*“Lo-Ammi,” means “not my people,” is the prophet Hosea’s third child with Gomer.
OK . . . , this is a “packed” Scripture. Actually, over 2,700 years of process is condensed in these 2 verses. But, if I may paraphrase it, it would go like this: “You will not be my people any more, but you will be as many as the sand of the sea, however; when you will be called ‘not my people’ (the Gentiles), this time, you will be called the ‘sons of the living God.’” Now, who are called “the sons of the living God” in the New Testament? Yes, the born-again believers! . . . as the following:
(14) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
(26) For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
So, the born-again believers were once called “My people” by YHVH in the Old Testament. Correct?
Then, the following Scripture started to ruminate in my mind.
Yeshua said to a Gentile woman who asked for healing:
But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
This is very specific, isn’t it? He came “only” for “the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
Then, who are they, the lost sheep?
I prayed for the answer, studied, meditated on these questions and more. And, finally, I was able to see the whole story through, and found the true and deeper reason why He had to die to redeem us.
The seven-part series I compiled together, “Why Yeshua Had To Die: A Hebraic Perspective,” has the detailed answers to these questions. Also, in this series, I discuss themes such as the true meaning of “the Bride of the Messiah” and how she should be preparing for her soon-coming Bridegroom. I carefully chose the Scriptures and connected them in the most meaningful way I could, so that other people can see what I saw. Perhaps, some will see it quickly, and others hesitantly. But, I have been urged in my spirit to publish it at this hour. I truly believe that this is an important message from YHVH, our Father, to His Lost Sheep as the Last Days are rapidly approaching.
I invite you to experience the excitement of receiving the revelation just as I did writing it, step-by-step, as it unfolds the greatest love story of the universe.
